Is there any announcement from Adobe on a timeframe for supporting multiple
processor cores? I am exporting a 300 page table on a Windows 2003 64-bit
server with eight processor cores, and Task Manager suggests that Acrobat is
not using more than one CPU core at full throttle. They could have
written the product to use all eight processor cores and to have each core
handling a different section of the same document, all doing concurrent I/O
to disk. For large processing jobs, a multi-threaded Acrobat would be
enormously faster.
