Acrobat reader 4.0ink

I have Adobe Acrobat 5.0 already downloaded on my pc. Sometimes when I receive and e-mail attachment I cannot open it. I get a box that states that 'Acrobat Reader 4.0ink' can't be located. I went to Adobe.com to download 'Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0ink' and I can't locate that version. Shouldn't there be a way of using the 5.0 vesion to open this file. TIA
