Hello dear experts,

I got the document (19 pages) from my client and made some annotations as well as some text highlightings on words with orthographic mistakes. I`m using Adobe Acrobat X Pro. From time to time I saved the document. Finally I closed the PDF document. Afterwards it wasn`t possible to open the document again.

Thanks for all for any help!

You can try this.
http://www.softspecialist.com/Advanced-PDF-Repair

It has worked on some pdf's I had that were corrupt but not all. You
have to pay for it to do the repair, BUT there is a work around. Just
follow the instructions below once you have installed the program.

Set the output folder to a known place on your hard drive.
Open the file to repair.
Once it is done DO NOT close the program.
Go find the repaired file, if it is not in the known place try looking
in any temp folder on your hard drive. The repaired file will have .tmp
extension and be about the same size as the original file. Copy the
file to new folder and rename to xxxx.pdf then check if it has been
repaired.
Close the repair program.

Follow these easy steps to repair broken .pdf document
1. Remove the PDF file that was corrupted by sending it to the recycle bin then empty the recycle bin. Download the PDF file again from the original source. While the Acrobat is downloading the file, limit your computer usage, this will only take a few minutes so just walk away from the computer momentarily. Open the new PDF file once the download has completed.
2. Remove your Adobe Acrobat Reader program. Click "Start" and select "Control panel." When the control panel opens find "Adobe Acrobat Reader" click on the program then select "Uninstall." Allow the program to complete the entire uninstall process.
3. Reboot your computer by clicking the "Start" then select "Restart." When the computer is finished rebooting reinstall the "Adobe Acrobat Reader" from Adobe official website. Download the latest version of the "Acrobat" for your computer's operating system. This will take a few minutes to complete the reinstall.
4. Download the PDF file again by visiting the website that you obtained the corrupted PDF file from. The file should be able to open correctly, but if you are still getting a corrupted file, proceed to the next step.
5. Only in case these steps weren't effective for your case, then apply third party software Recovery Toolbox for PDF https://pdf.recoverytoolbox.com/ and install on your computer. Follow the instructions of software to recover the corrupted PDF file.
