Acrobat Scan wont recognize my Cannon Printer

I have Adobe Acrobat Pro and it won't recognize my Cannon Printer. My iMac has it listed as my default printer , but when I open Adobe Acrobat Pro and try to scan to PDF, it does not recognize the printer on my system. Help?

Canon Printers don't scan, they print so are you really talking a
multifuction Printer-fax-scanner-copier device and if so what model ?

For any software to use a scanner the scanner's TWAIN compliant driver must
be installed. Has the Canon TWAIN been installed ?
If the TWAIN middleware is installed, can other TWAIN compliant software use
this scanner us it ?

Besides not posting the Canon model number, you also failed to post the
version of Acrobat Professional and its revision.
