I was wondering if anyone knows how to make a lined textbox like in
this picture:

This is for Acrobat X version 10.0.0

You need to create the lines before-hand as a part of the document
itself, and then place a transparent text-box on top of them.

I think I understand what you're saying, but what I don't get is how
to have the text stay on the lines. Do you have a sample pdf that
demonstartes what you mean? Thanks

Although I have LiveCycle Designer, I've never used it so I wouldn't
know where to bebin. Thanks.

That's what I thought! I needed to create a form, so I created a very simple
version, using "help" every time I got stuck, then expanded it to what I
needed.

I think what you are looking for is a dynamic form. So that variable amount of text when entered stays within the box, that is, the box expands according to the amount of the text entered.

LiveCycle Forms Designer and dynamic forms are the keywords, I'd use to research further.
